Geometrica’s “Saturn” Geometry

Geometrica’s “Saturn” geometry for geodesic domes is inspired by the planet Saturn’s striking north pole known as “the hexagon”. The unique planetary feature is created by a “turbulent current of air” much like a hurricane on Earth.

Our Saturn geometry, a series of rings surrounding a hexagon at the apex, is built out of lightweight and strong galvanized steel or aluminum and is able to create impressively large structures.

This geodesic dome provides for less variation in member lengths than even the popular subdivision of the icosahedron. Saturn’s horizontal rings provide for easy and quick assembly in spans of over 200m.

Notably, both Saturn’s hexagon and Geometrica domes span amazingly large areas and can be seen from space.
